Since this is a post related to saving download, I won't post any heavy images. Following are the ways you in which can save your precious monthly download:
1. Use Mozilla Firefox and goto Tools->Options->Content and then uncheck "Load Images Automatically"
2. To check ur mail use:-
For Yahoo mail: http://in.wap.yahoo.com/
For Gmail: http://mail.google.com/mail/x/
Read Gmail mails in Outlook
http://toolbar.google.com/gmail-helper/GmailConfig.exe (54kB)
3. Set your home page as http://www.google.com/gwt/n?u= and then to open any other site type the address followed by= e.g. To open www.tecktadka.blogspot.com use http://www.google.com/gwt/n?u=www.tecktadka.blogspot.com
But remember this works for sites which have a WAP version.
Or you can use WAP surfer
